Our client, a Global Communications company, is currently seeking an EU Accountant to take accountability for supporting numerous European entities of the organisation including assisting with preparing monthly management accounts, profit and loss analysis, annual financial statements, audits and tax returns etc. You will be responsible for ensuring that activities are performed in an accurate manner within established deadlines.

Successful candidates will need to have previous experience in reporting functions, excellent communication skills, and a good working knowledge of Excel functions such as pivot tables and v-lookups.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of month-end management accounts under US GAAP and annual statutory financial statements under local GAAPs in a timely and accurate manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information on balance sheet reconciliations for the assigned entities
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Assisting with the preparation of VAT and Corporate tax returns for assigned entities
  • Assisting with the maintenance of cash flow forecasts
  • Assisting with the provision of information to enable timely updating of weekly projections
  • Recommending reporting improvements as necessary
  • Knowing and supporting approved accounting, corporate and departmental policies and procedures
  • Keeping up to date with GAAP for relevant EU entities

Suitable candidates will have:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA part qualified
  • Suitable relevant experience in a large, multinational organisation
  • Experience in EU accounting principles and/or IFRS highly advantageous
  • Practical working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience of working compliantly with SOX
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required
  • Able to be flexible in terms of a changing environment and changing workload
  • Organised and able to handle multiple demands and reporting deadlines
  • Quick starter, keen to learn and develop
