CAD Designer - Cladding
Location: North of Salisbury
Salary £30,000 to £45,000 + Car Allowance + 25 days Holiday

Our client is a respected Cladding subcontractor based north of Salisbury and they are searching for a CAD Designer with cladding or envelop building experience to join the team.

Description of Job Role:
Contribute to and deliver department plans/strategies and ensure high standard of service delivery.
Run projects or phases of projects with assistance from Senior Designer or Design Manager in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure all CDM design risk assessments/project plans are implemented and followed throughout the duration of the project.
Maintain a current knowledge of the types of application and methods of construction of fenestration systems employed by the company. Obtain written approval from the system manufacture to any changes from the recommended design of their product.
Confirm all variation instructions in writing and correspond generally with the customer on design related issues, ensuring that all contract variations are approved by the project QS before starting work. Ensure all variations are correctly documented in the contract file in accordance with the DO procedures.
Maintain good morale and an enjoyable working environment by ensuring compliance with core values and regular progress monitoring reviews of projects.
Carry out all activities with regard to the business core values, objectives, systems and procedures.
Carry out any reasonable request from the Design Manager, Senior Design Manager & Technical Director.

Literate and numerate.
Have Cladding or envelop experience.
Ability to operate current design software packages (2D CAD software), efficiently and practically.
Ability to communicate to a high level both verbally and in writing.
Able to read and understand technical design & engineering Drawings.
Able to read a project specification and extract key information that is relevant or influences design/product application.
Able to identify discrepancies in a project specification or program in relation to product limitations, lead times and design resource. Communicate these to Design & Contract Management Teams, where appropriate.
Able to evaluate where standard design details, should be or cannot be applied.
Able to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and customers.
Understand inter departmental relationships and particularly those roles that influence and are impacted by project design process.
Able to read and understand structural engineering calculations as appropriate.
