Our client is part of a global manufacturing group, recycling and making packaging for the food industry. Their Kent factory, near Maidstone / Aylesford, has recently received large investment to develop the future of the site. They need a Reliability Engineer to join their senior engineering team.

Candidates should be Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, strong competency within a heavy continuous process environment ( e.g. paper ). Extensive experience with rotating equipment plant improvement projects involving pumps, fans, motors, gearboxes, rolls.
Steam and Condensate and Vacuum systems would be an advantage.
Candidates to have experience of problem solving techniques, root cause analysis techniques, benchmarking and life data analysis to assess equipment condition.
Experience of condition based maintenance techniques, such as Vibration Analysis, thermal imaging, laser alignment and ability to prepare and write engineering standards and to manage the site wide lubrication programme.

To lead and drive a reliability and preventative maintenance culture across the site.

You will manage a small team focused on reliability, plant improvements and engineering standards, so must have the ability to work independently and as part of the main engineering team. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required and the ability to produce high quality reports and deliver presentations to multiple levels of the organisation.

Experience of Using SAP would be an advantage. High degree of computer literacy required for a multiple software tools and interfaces.

Candidates are likely to have significant Reliability Engineering experience.

Working closely with all engineering personnel to define and maintain site engineering standards. Driving a reliability and preventative maintenance culture across the site.

Working closely with operations to determine causes of problems and their solutions through a variety of problem solving techniques. Some of which will require the justification, formal requests and the coordinated implementation of small projects to site engineering standards.

Lead RCFA investigations and maintain the database of corrective actions to ensure close out in a timely fashion to ensure peace of mind with reliability focus.

This is a key maintenance position, looking towards the longer term objective of reliable and efficient operational systems and plant process equipment.

There will be a requirement to also respond to out of hour's breakdowns that have an immediate effect on plant safety; environmental release or plant performance.
