SUEZ recycling and recovery UK is looking to recruit a Town & Country Planning Professional to join our Planning & Property team covering the South East of the UK. The post is to be based in either Maidenhead, Newcatsle, Morden or Bristol.

As an Assistant Planning Manager at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

Reporting to the Head of Planning & Property South, the Assistant Planning Manager South East will be responsible for delivering SUEZ`s requirements for planning permissions and planning advice within the Region. The successful candidate will work closely with members of SUEZ`s in-house construction team and collaborate with the Processing and Logistics divisions to contribute to the successful delivery of new infrastructure together with changes to existing operational sites to deliver SUEZ recycling and recovery UK`s vision and business requirements.

Key responsibilities of the role include delivering planning permissions in a timely and cost effective manner to implement SUEZ`s regional strategy for the South East. The successful candidate will also represent SUEZ recycling and recovery UK in public forums such as Local Plan Inquiries, public liaison meetings and through building positive working relationships with Planning Authorities and internally with colleagues within the Processing and Logistics divisions.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to find commercially viable solutions to planning issues to deliver the regional strategy. Working as part of an established and dedicated team the successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and to quickly be able to build strong working relationships with planning authorities and operational colleagues within the company.

A Degree in Town & Country Planning - or a placement year during a Town & Country Planning Degree / Masters course is essential. Experience in Town & Country Planning is desirable, together with a track record of delivering planning success, whilst experience of working within resource recovery and recycling would be of benefit.

Candidates will require a driving licence and an appropriate level of IT skills.
