Indirect Buyer - Eastleigh - Circa £31,000 - SAP Experience Ideal!

Indirect Buyer required to join a leading manufacturer based in the Eastleigh area. The successful Indirect Buyer will be educated to Degree level with experience of operating in a commercial environment, will be able to demonstrate a sound level of commercial acumen and excellent analytical skills together with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers and will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office and SAP.

The Package:
Salary - Circa £31,000
Flexible Working Hours
39 hour week
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus 8 statutory holidays

The Role:
In this role, you will be required to work closely with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure the most cost effective solutions with respect to goods and services purchased through revenue and capital. Specific duties will include the following:
  • Manage the commercial relationship with suppliers regarding price, lead time and supply assurance.
  • Work closely with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure the most cost effective solutions.
  • Raise purchase orders and negotiate contracts for the supply of requisitioned or specified goods and services - utilising the Company's E-Procurement system where possible.
  • Ensure the most efficient and ethical methods of purchasing administration are used during the procurement cycle, maintaining and updating Company procedures and ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain accurate SAP records and provide data to support the Purchasing Manager and decision making process - enabling purchasing objectives, policies and procedures to be defined by the whole Purchasing team.
  • Manage the vendor rating and contractor approval processes in conjunction with internal and external audit procedures and to highlight supply risk analysis data to the Company.
  • Keep abreast of supply market trends to enable the Company to plan internal projects and initiatives effectively and to ensure purchases are consistently made at competitive unitary prices.

Requirements:
  • Candidates will ideally be educated to Degree level with experience of operating in a commercial environment.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a sound level of commercial acumen and excellent analytical skills together with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers.
  • An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office will be essential. Experience of SAP will be advantageous.
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence.
