The Role

The Raspberry Pi Foundation’s mission is to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world. It’s a deliberately bold statement of our intent. Since launching our first product in February 2012, we have sold over twelve million Raspberry Pi computers and have helped kickstart a global movement to get more people involved in computing and digital making. We’ve trained thousands of teachers and engaged hundreds of thousands of young people in our educational programmes, including our network of over 10,000 Code Clubs. Our free educational resources are used by millions of people every year.

We’re now looking for a Programme Coordinator to support the delivery and growth of our programme for teenage digital makers, Pioneers. You will be responsible for making the programme happen, and for developing and implementing the processes and systems that keep it all running smoothly. You’ll provide practical support to the Pioneers team, including logistic and administrative support, as well as helping out with communications.

The ideal candidate will be very organised, able to work on more than one project at a time, with a background in educational outreach, and a passion for computing and digital making.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide practical assistance and support to Pioneers as it develops and grows,including setting up and embedding excellent programme management systems,including tracking participation and engagement.
  • Organising workshops and other events for the Pioneers community, liaising with venues, and ensuring that all practicalities are dealt with effectively, includingticketing, catering, health and safety, and other logistics.
  • Ensuring that all Pioneers participants and stakeholders receive an outstanding level of customer service at all times, including sending scheduled emails, responding to enquiries, and fulfilling deliveries as required.
  • Organising all aspects of judging for Pioneers competitions.
  • Ensuring all project documentation is logged and maintained correctly.
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of budget information.
  • Ensuring invoices and expenses are received on time from external contractors and processed accordingly.
  • Assisting with general office housekeeping, including ordering and stock management.
  • Developing operational systems and processes as required.
  • Writing friendly, approachable copy for resources, publicity, and social media.

You must have:

  • A passion for the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s mission.
  • A practical, proactive, and enthusiastic approach, with proven experience in an administrative or project assistant role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across one or more programmes, and to work on your own initiative.
  • Natural collaboration skills, and an ability to work across teams, and with a track record of creating successful partnerships.
  • An excellent standard of computer literacy, with particular experience of using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Familiarity with Google apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Forms) is essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including fluent English.
  • The right to work in the UK.

You will ideally have:

  • A good understanding of and enthusiasm for the field of computer science education and digital making.
  • Experience of outreach activities, preferably in an educational context.
  • An understanding of social media.
  • Experience of writing copy for a public audience.
