Learning Disabilities Social Worker in London
Work Remotely and Flexibly in a Learning Disabilities Service
A Local Authority that I work with in London is seeking an experienced Social Worker for their Learning Disabilities service on a permanent basis. The team work with service users above the age of 18 who have a broad range of Learning Disabilities and facilitate independent living where possible. Due to the nature of the post cases are generally quite varied which tends to mean work is stimulating and no 2 days are the same.
The Local Authority have also made improvements to their IT infrastructure to provide Social Workers the capacity to work flexibly and remotely where necessary. As this is a post which requires Social Workers to operate in the community this has been a really positive improvement with Social Workers being able to work more autonomously whilst still retaining the support from their manager.
Caseloads within the service are very well managed with a cap in place to prevent workloads becoming unmanageable. Furthermore the manager who is a longstanding member of the team brings in locums when necessary to make sure caseloads are maintained to a healthy level.
The Local Authority also provide you the opportunity to develop and the hiring manager is really keen to find a Social Worker who is career driven and looking to progress. You will have the chance to attend a range of courses which are provided by affiliated universities and you will have a substantial training budget to fund any training that is provided externally.
To be considered for this post you should have extensive experience of working in a similar service.
