Accounts Payable Clerk

£18,000 - £23,000

Our client, a leading and reputable brand within its industry who are based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their business on a permanent basis.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will join an established Accounts Payable team and will have the opportunity to work with internal and external customers at all levels of the business in order to deliver a great service.

Within this role, you will be responsible for processing high volume invoices which will include dealing with queries to ensure invoices are processed and paid on time. The role will involve reconciling supplier statements and dealing with ad hoc queries whilst working closely with your stakeholder group to get the job done in an effective way.

To be successful within this role you should have had previous experience processing high volume invoices on a monthly basis. The role does not require you to have industry specific experience although those coming from a business to business background will have a significant advantage as it will help you to develop an understanding of the queries you may come across.

The ideal candidate will have the confidence to deal with customers and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, to ask the right questions and ensure follow up on required action.

Key Expertise

  • Experience in an Accounts Payable role processing high volume invoices
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and initiative

You will report directly into an Accounts Payable Manager and be part of the core Financial Accounts function. This role is a great stepping stone role into a core finance position in the future dependant on personal aspirations in either Financial or Management Accounts or further internal opportunities within the transactional team.
