Our client, a market leader in hosted and cloud based solutions is looking to recruit a Production Systems Engineer to join there expanding team. They are leading the Unified Communications and Contact Centre in the cloud revolution by providing organisations of every size with a high-availability, secure, enterprise-class solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems, together with transparent pricing, out-of-the-box integration and continuous product.

Working as part of a busy team, the Production Systems Engineer will be responsible for the planning, installation, commissioning, support, maintenance and upgrading the company’s production systems platforms.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Voice and Data platforms, infrastructure, applications and monitoring tools.

  • Responsible for project work and support caseloads.

  • Working with next generation voice and data solutions with the goal of offering our customers 99.99% uptime and service availability through solutions that are designed to be resilient and highly available.

  • Provide on call cover for escalation cases from the 24-hour support team that support our clients, working on an on-call rota.

  • Responsibility for data security and backup as well as threat protection and detection (Virus, Malware, Penetration testing etc.).

  • Firewall and VPN configuration to ensure maximum security and uptime.

  • Network Security and Intrusion prevention.

  • Ensuring that the business is totally protected from Virus Attack, Anti-Spam and other threats.

  • Server maintenance, expansion, capacity and configuration.

  • Domain Management and Scripts.

  • Disaster recovery planning, testing and implementing.

  • Managing and responding to cases within the IS System Helpdesk.

The role will involve using multiple technologies including:

  • VoIP - Asterisk/Cisco platforms.

  • Unified Communications.

  • IP Networking and Switching - Cisco preferred.

  • Server Build and Configuration - Windows Server / Linux.

  • VMWare ESXi / VSphere.

  • Firewall, Anti-Virus and Backups.

  • High Availability, resilience, fail over and security management.

  • Alert management and proactive management systems.

  • Bandwidth management and monitoring, including expansion management.

  • Failover management and High Availability configuration.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and an understanding Of VoIP technologies (SIP/RTP), call diagnostics, Packet Tracing, system configuration and Asterisk platform. Strong experience in an ISP/Enterprise/ Cloud production environment is desirable alongside experience of core Cisco Router configuration, including BGP/OSPF Routing, Peering and Netflow. A CCNP Certificate is preferred but not essential. You must possess both Linux and Windows Server support skills and have experience with VMWare ESXi / VSphere administration.

You must be experienced with Dell Sonicwall HA Cluster firewall configuration and have experience of VPN configuration. Knowledge of Network Security and Intrusion prevention is essential alongside experience of Server maintenance, expansion, capacity and configuration and integration with Telecoms.
