Your new company
Your new company is a Development Consultancy based in South Wales, who work closely with residential house builders and are looking to expand their team with the addition of a development manager.
Your new role
You will support the Regional Development Directors in managing projects on time and budget and be responsible from initial site finding, through site assembly, acquisition, feasibility design and internal approval process to exchange contracts. You will assist in securing satisfactory planning permission to undertake relevant due diligence. You will work with the wider development team to negotiate the sales/leasing of projects to end users and in securing funding where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
You will demonstrate drive, self confidence, commercial awareness, attention to detail and a logical approach to situations. You should enjoy challenging situations and have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion and provide workable solutions. You should be able to develop successful relationships and build trust with all relevant parties/stakeholders.
Technically, you will be a Chartered Surveyor with a General Practice/ Development bias. You will have a thorough understanding of contract law (especially of options and conditional contracts) and town and country planning. You will have a detailed understanding of property development including the due diligence processes needed to eliminate or mitigate risk. Excellent technical knowledge of land law, valuation and financial appraisals and the planning application processes.
