Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Boston

We are currently looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to undertake engineering maintenance to maximise the effectiveness of all machinery lines and site services. The role is to be work over a 8 hour shift pattern days, nights and lates. Working as part of a 6 man maintenance team the successful candidate will work on shift with a shift partner.

Accountable to the Site Engineer, the technician`s responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering tasks of Electrical / Mechanical nature
  • Ensuring adherence of Health & Safety regulations
  • Maintain and improve plant and equipment efficiency
  • Integration of TPM and PPM principles
  • Attending breakdowns to resolve problems in safe and professional manner
  • Line accountability and ownership of improvement activities
  • Assisting improvement in overall efficiency and equipment design
  • Maintenance of accurate machine related documentation
  • General Maintenance and other duties as directed by Site Engineer

Successful candidates must:

  • Have ability to diagnose fault and failure on automated lines
  • Be capable of working in high speed pressurised manufacturing environment
  • Have knowledge and ability to work on various electrical classifications from 3 phase power supplies to complex control systems, including PLC equipment
  • Be educated to minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical/ Mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Be computer literate - able to use `Excel` and `Word` to basic level
  • Be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of a team
  • Demonstrate ability in welding & fabrication skills, disassembly of machinery and manufacturing basic machine parts using workshop equipment

8 Hour Shift Pattern Working Hours:

  • Working Hours are 6am till 2pm days stating on a Monday morning and finishing on a Friday. Late starting at 2pm till 10pm and the night shift will be 10pm till 6am starting on a Sunday night and the finishing on a Friday morning, this will work on a weekly alternating cycle one week of days followed by one week on Nights and the Lates.


  • If overtime is requested for weekend work by the Engineering Manager notice will be given, these hours are optional as they will not be part of your contractual hours. If you accept the responsibility to work the overtime the start time will be in line with production 6am unless otherwise stated.
  • Engineers will be expected to work 1 in 3 weekends (12 hours which is to be planned by the Engineer)

This is a permanent position.

Salary - £30-£31k

Overtime paid time and a half & double time on Saturday after 12pm and Sundays.

Bonus for 1 in 3 weekend working.

Holidays - 25 days + stats.
