Associate Director - Healthcare PR Agency
A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director to join an international integrated healthcare communications agency, based in central London. Our client firmly believes that brand and corporate communications should be considered together to support business strategy at every level and with every stakeholder group to build reputation, awareness and trust in the organisation. They also believe that the marketing and communications mix should be integrated with the product development process early and consistently throughout a brand's life.
The company’s core offerings are global PR programmes, media programmes, advocacy and stakeholder relations, Clinical Advisory boards, corporate communications and media and presentations skills training. The Associate Director has the responsibility to ensure project teams successfully manage client accounts. You will contribute directly to the management of one or more of the following: a group of consultants; a specialised practice or service area; one or more large client account. It will be in your remit to identify opportunities, respond to and lead the development of business proposals and pitches; lead new business pitches; maintain and grow accounts by recognising and capitalising on emerging opportunities; present credentials at formal meetings; help shape the business strategy of the practice group, contribute to the company's overall business strategy and deliver in line with it; oversee the development of new service offerings. Further areas of the job specification are to manage large, complex and demanding client mandates and budgets including providing communications planning, strategy formulation, ensuring directors and partners are updated on key challenges and issues on accounts; providing professional/technical leadership across multiple and diverse mandates; conduct post mandate reviews with a director and the team to assess the client relationships and management/development; and demonstrate a strong grasp of current events and the media landscape and an understanding of how they provide context for clients’ and own business.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate, ideally in life science, have 8- years’ solid experience in healthcare PR, and be able to manage accounts to high standards of service, on time and within budget. You will already have a good reputation in the communications industry, be able to demonstrate ability to handle a variety of difficult and challenging assignments, and a strong network of contacts in public relations field.
