Rate:£26,830 - 35780pa (dependent on experience)
Length:12 month Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has just become available for an experienced Service Manager to manage a specialist Children's Advocacy Service within a Young Offenders Institute and Secure Training Centre in Kent.

The successful candidate will be working for a respected national charity who works tirelessly to transform the lives of some of the UK's most vulnerable children. They provide high quality and innovative services and delivery child focus programmes which they are constantly striving to develop and improve.

You will be leading their Kent based Children's Advocacy Service which specialises in ensuring the rights and voices of Children and Young People being held in secure estates (YOIs and STCs) are heard.

This is an impartial and independent service whose aim is to support and assist assists young people to access all available services and entitlement and supported them to resolve any issues relating to their welfare, care and treatment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

*Responsible for leading and operationally managing a team of 3 Children's Rights Advocates including appraisals and supervisions, performance management, training and development and recruitment and retention
*Ensuring that the delivery plan is met in line with agreed timescales and key outcomes
*Monitoring and evaluating the service, submitting quarterly reports and liaising with funders and the contacts within the Secured Estates
*Responsible for case allocation and management which will include supported and advising staff on complex cases and where necessary carrying out direct interventions with young people
*Acting as the main contact and representative with local and regional services, funders and partners
*Supporting the Senior Management Team in the provision of performance management data and reporting to internal and external stakeholders as required

They are looking for an experienced Manager who has experience and knowledge of safeguarding young people detained within the criminal justice system/ in young offenders services and who has a strong working knowledge of National Advocacy Standards.
