The client is well funded and supported biotechnology corporate, with a strong balance sheet and active sales. They are heavily R&D orientated, and have great, and real, expectations for the future. They are looking to appoint a FD to report to the CEO and sit on the Board, to strengthen the commercial focus of the company and to bring best practice with regard to financial reporting and analysis.
The FD will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company strategy and the flow of meaningful financial information to the Board and the Investors. There is a small team to manage, as such the FD will need to be hands on, and involved with monthly reports, dealing with HMRC, systems improvements and IT, etc., in addition to keeping abreast of new R&D tax relief laws. The FD is also expected to get involved with tendering, pricing, procurement, logistic and project management issues, and to be fully in control of costs and cash management.
Candidates will be qualified accountants, ACA, with solid experience managing the financial affairs of a growing biotechnology or similarly funded corporate. Experience of working with a Board and outside corporate investors is also useful. We are also looking for an individual looking to join a growing corporate, with plenty of upside, and with potential share options.
