The Role:

We have a great opportunity for a Marketing Analyst to join our team here at Virtual College. You will be responsible for championing a data-driven approach to marketing; using both quantitative and qualitative research methods to assist the organisation in making informed decisions through the critical evaluation of data. Collaboratively, you will identify, quantify and define opportunities within both existing and new markets and sectors to ultimately become the go-to Marketing Analyst for research, market and product insights.

Key Marketing Analyst duties:

- Conduct market research for such activities as Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Quality Perception
- Identify and understand key competitors’ products and services to advise the organisation on gaining competitive advantage
- Carry out competitive analysis of industry sectors maintaining competitor files and library
- Assess and communicate actionable findings with a view to supporting the marketing team to achieve its ambitious goals
- Analyse market data on consumers, competitors and the marketplace to remain informed of market trends and opportunities for development
- Remain fully informed on market trends and possible future developments
- Manage external market research companies/agencies
- Formulate, manage and analyse internal and external customer surveys
- Research opportunities for product development that will fill a market need and generate commercial returns
- Ensuring all research data is collected in accordance with data protection recommendations
- Supports other Virtual College activities that fall within the role’s capabilities as directed by the Product Manager and Strategy Manager

Key Skills/Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a marketing research role with proven experience in both qualitative and qualitative research methods
- Knowledge of SQL, data visualisation and statistical analysis software
- Ability to build strong professional relationships both internally and externally
- Experience and ability in report writing and presentations of data
- Experience using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics/Trends
- Experience of CRM systems such as Salesforce/MS Dynamics
- Ability to present research data in a easy to understand wayAdvanced experience of MS Excel
- Degree qualified or with suitable experience
- Strong attention to detail and a critical thinker
- Good verbal communication skills
- Time management & strong organisational skills
- Self-starter with energy, drive and passion
- Personal ambition and driven to achieve targets and objectives
- Proactive, a “doer” – rolls sleeves up and gets things done
