Clark James is pleased to be working a leading provider of bespoke engineering and technology solutions to major infrastructure companies across the world, to countries including the UK, USA, Australia and Canada. Our client provide asset mapping, modeling and engineering solutions using a range of data capturing methods including LiDAR, photography and other remotely sensed data.

About the role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support their growing Project Management Team.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of planning and programming for various projects, whilst working closely with relevant managers to provide detailed delivery programmes in conjunction with supporting information, to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of the company’s projects in line with business strategies

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of planning, programming, including scheduling of elements to be integrated together at the production and delivery stage
  • Monitor works progress, programme re-scheduling & produce frequent reports by managing information and summaries, including associated mitigation strategies
  • Provide the office based project team with on-going planning support to both operational and commercial team members to achieve overall goals and targets
  • Ensure team members are aware of plans as developed to ensure consistency and continuity
  • Maintain contact and liaise with our client’s Project Managers
  • Recognise & protect the company’s interests
  • To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning and look for continuous business improvement
  • Be effective in recommending and implementing process changes to fit business need and strategy

Essential criteria

  • Background of planning medium to large scale projects as part of the principle Project team, with specific experience in working with multi-skilled and sometimes shared resources
  • Good organisation and management skills
  • Analytic, numeric and literacy skills
  • Ability to prepare and present concise and accurate reports, and plans
  • Knowledge of Primivara and MS Project (essential)
  • Ability to recognise risk and offer options for mitigation
  • Has knowledge of best practice project management techniques and be able to recognise and communicate high level business objectives to technical staff

Desired criteria

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with the standard Microsoft Office suite of software (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook
  • Good and strong communication skills and a 'Team player’
  • Able to work under own initiative and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work well with senior managers and business stakeholders
  • Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot and approach tasks with a 'can do’ attitude’
  • Quick learner
