Welfare Benefit Officer

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Welfare Benefits Officer to make their mark in our newly merged housing group.
As a Welfare Benefits Officer you will be responsible for giving advice, guidance, assistance and support to tenants with regard to income and statutory benefits. You will be required to keep abreast of all national and local benefits changes and be able to negotiate on behalf of the Association and its customers with the relevant statutory authorities on cases up to and including representation at tribunals
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of providing Welfare Benefit advice and guidance to customers, using excellent interpersonal skills
You will have an excellent knowledge of Housing Benefit and Welfare Reform issues, and be able to demonstrate an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving. You will also be able to communicate effectively with a wide range and level of people and provide excellent customer service
Applicants must be able to travel across regions as required.
