Governance & Controls Manager (Impairment) - Consumer Finance
Up to £50,000 + excellent benefits

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful candidate will provide support in ensuring the Capital and Impairment function is operating with the requirements of the Risk frameworks
  • In addition, the team manage Impairment Credit Risk policy compliance and put in place the parameters to ensure the underlying Standards are adhered to
  • The team work with stakeholders and provide oversight of the control environment by assessing and challenging the documented controls where appropriate - they support the Control Owners in foreseeing potential issues and identifying control weaknesses that should be remediated before issues arise
  • Other responsibilities include supporting the wider Impairment methodology alignment through policy interpretation of IFRS9 and other regulatory changes
  • Manage Post Model Adjustment (PMA) process by ensuring individuals take responsibility for closing out actions by tracking through to compliance
  • Provide support to non-credit risk related policy requirements (across Audit and Group Risk)
  • Support Stress testing / Planning governance requirements to ensure policy/standard compliance

EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding and knowledge of Governance & Risk Management policies and standards
  • Knowledge of risks within governance and control that can affect Credit, Fraud, Operational, Regulation, Compliance, Financial Crime business areas
  • Previous knowledge and experience in development and documentation of policy standards (including gaining approval at Risk Management Committees)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Credit Risk Management
  • Experience of managing Governance & Control practices
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the financial services sector
