Our Associate is seeking to identify a high calibre senior technical tax specialist to join a long-established mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants with an excellent reputation for first class technical expertise coupled with friendly, professional service.

The client has over the years created an extremely strong tax practice conducting top level tax planning and investigations for a broad range of clients which vary from individuals to large privately owned corporates. The level and complexity of this work would more usually be associated with a larger firm and offer an excellent career enhancing opportunity for an additional Tax Director (equivalent to salaried partner) with the expectation of early promotion to Equity Partner.

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with substantial specialist tax experience and ideally a tax qualification. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated professional who will command respect from his/her peers, the firm’s clients and referrers of work, and the staff. He or she should show a clear desire for promotion to partner, enjoy taking responsibility, be able to cope with the demands of a senior level appointment, and thrive as a key member of a high calibre team.

First class technical tax skills are essential and previous experience is likely to have been as a senior manager/director/partner managing a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients with a bias towards complex advice and one-off specials. This is likely to have been gained in a medium sized firm with a range of owner managed businesses and high net worth clients. Consideration will also be given to candidates from larger firms whose experience has spanned both corporate and personal tax departments.

In summary this is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional candidate with first class tax expertise looking for a technically and intellectually challenging role with early promotion to equity partnership. The succession plan creates an opportunity for the right person to take over a comprehensive portfolio of clients including high net worths, complex corporates, commercial and tax planning and long-term wealth planning, as well as smaller businesses in need of general practice support. This is a technical office and will provide challenging and rewarding work, not often seen either in the client's kind of location, or outside much larger firms.
