Our Client a leading hire company is currently recruiting for a Design Manager based in Peterborough.

Salary up to £40k plus car/car allowance.

PURPOSE
Provide technical expertise to regional depot network, key account area sales teams and Executive Leadership Team. Manage team of designers. Chair design team meetings, liaising with internal and external clients, end users and design consultants. Promote product development within the Hire division. Assist in the development & management of an asset database

Main responsibilities
Operational Roles and Responsibilities Manage team of three CAD Designers to provide sales plans and working drawings for all non-standard projects.
Manage and refine library of standard Company products ensuring they align with agreed Company goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance of all hire products with applicable regulations and provide expert advice to internal and external clients.

Main Tasks
* Manage resource levels to support work winning teams providing technical expertise and advice to internal and external clients.
* Attend meetings with internal and external clients and suppliers.
* Ensure full compliance with all applicable Regulations, Codes and Standards.
* Co-ordinate design process, working with a variety of specialist consultants including but not limited to: o Structural Engineers. o Mechanical Designers. o Electrical Designers. o Architects.
* Technical lead within the Company standardisation process.
* Lead the team providing support and mentoring to optimise employee satisfaction and development whilst meeting business targets.
* Create and maintain Company asset database working closely with fleet standards team.
* Provide technical expertise to investigate and resolve issues, identify areas for improvement using tools such as root cause analysis.
* Support the release of 360° Product offerings.
* Provide onsite training to existing and new employees.
* Participate in the development of new product working with colleagues through the client group.
* Represent the client at MPBA meetings and seminars

* Experience within a technical or operational discipline
* Proven track record as a leader
* Experience within Offsite and Modern Methods of Construction an advantage
* Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Experience in design and build contracts with specific knowledge of education, healthcare and commercial buildings
* Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Bulletins and Health Technical Memorandums
* Full working knowledge of Autodesk design tools including Revit and AutoCad an advantage.
* Able to multitask and prioritise effectively, working well under pressure
* Commercial awareness
* Good all-round communicator The role may involve overnight stays where appropriate.

Qualifications
HNC qualifications or equivalent in a building/design related subject would be an advantage
