Our Client is one of the leading housing providers in Wales. They operate across 15 local authority areas, providing quality, affordable homes and services to more than 19,000 residents. They are a major Welsh employer, with 400 staff and 200 staff in their two subsidiary companies, a figure that is growing year on year. They have been established since 1965, and they have grown from their first scheme of 49 flats in Cardiff, to over 11,500 properties across Wales. They have three main office sites; Head Office in Cardiff a North base in Ewloe, and an office in Newcastle Emlyn with the majority based in South Wales. They are seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Manager to take overall responsibility for the delivery of new homes working with contractors to ensure high standards of health and safety, quality and cost control and that schemes are built to time, expected standards and specification. You will have excellent leadership and management skills and the resilience to work under pressure managing a team of staff taking projects through design, planning, tender and build ensuring a smooth handover ready for new residents to move in. You will have significant construction and contract management experience with a good working knowledge of different forms of contract, OJEU and standard tendering practices.
In this role there will be no shortage of opportunity to take on some really exciting projects from large scale extra care schemes, standard housing to specialist schemes to meet specific needs. You will have authority and scope to shape the design of their new housing working alongside the other Construction Manager, Development Manager (West Wales) and two Land Managers to deliver the company's ambitious strategy for the future.
