Engineering Manager - Technical Manufacturing

Based: Dorset

Salary: c£50,000 + Benefits + Excellent Relocation Package

Kendall Poole Consulting are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to be part of the UK division of a global group involved in designing and producing customised precision components. Our client has an enviable market position within their core business of precision components and the strategy for growth is for complete solution sales capability.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your remit is to lead the R&D Engineering function including Applications, Process Engineers and Chemists. This is a leadership role with responsibility for product design and the project management, to time and budget, of products seamlessly introduced into manufacture. The role is pivotal as it will be the main point of contact from the products inception through to market introduction operating within a CI environment and exacting standards.

To excel in this role you will be of graduate calibre within a Chemistry, Scientific, Engineering or Materials discipline as you will need to have an excellent grasp of scientific and engineering principals. You will already be employed in a technical managerial position, within the manufacturing sector, ideally with a background in precision metals, chemical etchings and or the photo chemical machining process.

Having proven capability in delivering major technical improvements in product development, through driving technical teams, you will be a natural motivator with the ability to lead and coach cross functional teams to achieve higher levels of performance. As well as demonstrating leadership skills, you will understand the NPI process and have a passion for delivering first class customer service. More specifically you will have advanced capability in the use of SPC, able to demonstrate a logical and structured approach to Project Management and the cycle of managing into production.

Possessing a 'can do' attitude, with the ability to problem solve, you will be a self-motivated individual with strong analytical, communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to talk to non- technical people.

Able and willing to be an active participant in the management team of the business, in return you will receive a generous salary, pension and relocation allowance if appropriate. This is a really exciting opportunity as the Company is poised for growth and whilst the location offers a fantastic work-life balance you will also be part of a global group.
