Our client based in Bradford is one of the regions largest employers and boast being one of the world leading organisations in their field of work and on their behalf we are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to become a member of the maintenance team.The position is mechanically biased with some electrical cover as well.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • To record preventative maintenance activities.

  • To provide effective reactive maintenance to the factory and general maintenance of offices.

  • To provide services to new capital installations.

  • To assist contractors and ensure their compliance with all Company policies and procedures (e.g. Health and Safety) .

  • To provide reactive breakdown cover on a call out basis.

  • Prepared to work shift patterns to meet the needs of the business.

    Required Qualifications:

Basic IT skills.

Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.

Practical experience working on electrical equipment such as PLC units and control cabinets.

Desirable Skills

  • 17th Edition.

  • Ability to self manage and prioritise activities.

  • Experience working on a number of different systems such as Hydraulic , Pneumatic and Electrical.

  • Understanding of technical drawings including Electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems.

  • A Valid Driving license.

  • Preferably 3a and 3b MEWP licence, Fork lift would also be desirable.

  • Understanding of technical drawings including Electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems.

  • Able to work within a team and independently, able to use own initiative.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety principles and practices.

  • Able to communicate at all levels.

  • Flexible approach to meet the operational needs of the business, shift working.

  • The hours of work initially will be on days for the first couple of months working Mon - Fri 7.30am - 3.30pm for training purposes and then will transfer on to nights working Mon - Thurs 10pm - 8am with plus 20% for nights.
