Our client, an established MGA are looking for an Account Manager / BDM to take responsibility for their panel of brokers across tNorthern Ireland.

This rare and interesting opportunity requires someone within a relationship management capacity to own and proactively develop commercially successful relationships with brokers and, where appropriate, other intermediaries.

Key duties will include;

  • Prepare, design, implement and review development plans, ensuring regular visits to all panel brokers are carried out
  • Ensure all action points and follow up work are recorded and completed within agreed timeframes to offer market leading support to brokers
  • Acting within the business appetite to target and win new business whilst retaining existing business across all of their product lines
  • Engage in regular self-development through the various channels available both internally and externally
  • Deliver the highest standard of service and support at all times, taking ownership of customer dissatisfaction, utilising all tools at your disposal in facilitating complaint resolution
  • Through regular communication build strong working relationships with all internal teams and stakeholders
  • Work pro-actively with colleagues, in particular the underwriting team to aid the delivery of exceptional service to brokers, effective risk selection and enhanced performance of all accounts
  • Drives both brokers and internal teams to meet retention and new business targets

Skills required;

  • Good commercial product knowledge along with proven business acumen
  • Drive and determination to see all tasks through to completion
  • Passionate to meet and surpass company targets/records
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Inventive in identifying ways in developing and strengthening new and existing relationships
  • Naturally a good communicator that leaves a great first impression
  • Good commercial awareness and excellent report/presentation skills
  • Ability to listen and observe broker behaviour and to act accordingly to aid their development
  • A keen eye to see opportunity to self-promote, being fully aware of the companies USP’s and being able to work on one’s own
  • Experience in managing a panel of insurance brokers is essential for this role
