Our client, a leading distribution company are looking for a Senior Inventory Controller to join their team. The role is focused on maximising customer fill rate and stock efficiency within their distribution centre in relation to their preferred suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong inventory experience looking for their next career move.

The role:

  • Optimising all purchase orders to replenish stock
  • Ensuring inter-branch transfers are optimised before new stock is purchased.
  • Identifying shortages, potential out of stocks and taking appropriate actions/measures to minimise disruption to the business and to maximise customer service levels.
  • Negotiate SLOB stock to minimise any write down on products
  • Work within write down constraints and set targets
  • Liaise with goods-in team to ensure delivered and put-away activity are prioritised effectively.
  • Liaise with suppliers and coordinating shipments through the company’s nominated freight supplier and warehouse to arrange goods inwards bookings.
  • Analysing demand/trends to construct a forecast that can be used to support the inventory plan.
  • Regular communication to business regarding due dates, expected delivery dates
  • Improving and maintaining supplier relations

The candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience purchasing from Far East suppliers desirable
  • MRP/ERP Experience
  • Experience within distribution/wholesale/FMCG industry desirable
  • Experience with supply chain KPI’s desirable
  • Purchasing and Supply Chain qualifications desirable
