DIRECTOR, OPERATIONAL FINANCE

We are looking for an experienced mid to senior career level finance professional who is commercially astute and analytically adept, to help drive and develop the performance and strategy of our European operations. Contributing to the analytical capability of the direct reports comprising sales finance team, plant controllers and cost accountants, this position will provide senior level management with insightful business recommendations, analysis, planning and decision support. The position reports to the Finance Director, and is a critical link between finance and the wider business including Sales, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain. Ultimately, the position has direct influence on the business direction and execution by working with senior leaders across the business.

The candidate should be able to take a deep dive into the details while also keeping a big picture perspective. The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of finance areas and teams - ranging from: supporting sales; analyzing profitability of product categories/market segments; developing new products business cases; ensuring product standard costs reflect true economics; controlling manufacturing and supply chain operations; etc.. The position will be responsible for month-end reporting and analysis for the areas under direct responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant in UK

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Significant proven experience in finance/FP&A, audit and advisory services at major accounting firms, management consulting, investment banking or similar environment.

  • Proven track record of management level promotions and increasing responsibilities through the years.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, relevant Master's degree or professional qualification

  • Significant commercial and/or operational finance experience in trading, retail or manufacturing

  • Proven success in planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level

DIRECTOR, ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING

The purpose of this role is to manage the financial reporting function, technical accounting research, compliance with Group accounting policies, and maintenance of internal controls within the EU business of ASR Group. This is an outward facing role requiring quality production of both consolidated IFRS and US GAAP statements and operational reporting, which is heavily relied upon for evaluating performance and making business decisions. This position requires an intimate understanding of the business to be able to improve the value of information. You must be comfortable working with tight deadlines and interfacing with other business functions, leadership, internal and external auditors.

This position will closely work with the local leadership and Group Chief Accounting Officer to formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization. Ensures that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations and meet Group and statutory reporting requirements. The job holder will be expected to assure that Group processes and procedure are followed, while working with the Chief Accounting Officer of the Group to improve procedures and processes to improve efficiency and enhance internal controls.

Previous Experience

  • Significant proven experience in accounting and reporting with a considerable experience in a major accounting and auditing firm with progressively increasing responsibilities

  • Demonstrable managerial/leadership experience

    Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA degree strongly preferred)

  • ACA or equivalent qualification

  • Advanced knowledge of both U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting principles required

  • Multi-national accounting experience preferred
