This is a varied and interesting opportunity to assist in all areas of accounts preparation for an independent, innovative and rapidly growing IT services company, including Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger duties.
Working as part of a small team you will assist in the broad range of day to day workings of the Accounts department; helping to process paperwork, allocate payments, raise invoices and answering general accounts queries.
Other duties will include:
- Working on both sales and purchase ledgers
- Helping to prepare statutory accounts
- Reconciling accounts
- Processing receipts and payments
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Dealing with general financial paperwork and filing
- Managing and reconciling company credit cards
Applicants must be at least AAT Level 2 qualified, ideally studying towards AAT Level 3 and willing to continue studies to AAT Level 4. Applicants must also have a good standard of general education including Maths and English GCSE's (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
Applicants should have prior experience of working in an accounts role, ideally including previous experience of both Sales and Purchase Ledgers, along with a good working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts.
Applicants should also have good general administration skills - data entry, typing and writing skills along with a good general knowledge of Microsoft Office suite especially Microsoft Excel. An interest in IT would be desirable.
Hours of work will be 08:50 - 17:40 Monday to Friday.
