We have a new role for an experienced Credit Controller who can make an impact in the short term contract until the end of December 2017. Someone who would enjoy having the responsibility for timely Revenue Collection of Public Performance License fees for maximum profit and minimum loss. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that the customer collection experience is a positive one.

The Credit Controller will maintain and improve debtor days for maximum cash flow and minimum bad debt. This is achieved by being target focused in terms of cash, debtors and debtor days for the business group revenue stream that they are assigned. The role-holder will ensure that the optimum level of service is applied to outbound chasing calls, inbound payment and dispute calls, sales, DCA queries and all communication received.

As someone who has previous solid experience in debt collection, the Credit Controller will have the responsibility for chasing outstanding payments for license fees by telephone, enabling them to utilise their strong negotiation skills. The role-holder will not only need to be aware of the challenges of license fee collection and to keep up to date with tariff or policy change, but they will also have in-depth understanding of the impact of installments or customer quality on debtor days and raise concerns with respect to doubtful debt/bad debt.

We are looking for someone to be able to communicate verbally and by report with the Sales team to enable improvements to process and Debtor days and reduce current write off levels. Additionally they will need to communicate a need for change of business process or system outlining the need for change and the remedy.

The successful candidate will be accurate when maintaining records on our bespoke licensing system (PUPPS), and for Data store in order to ensure accounts are reconciled and up to date. Reports should be produced in a timely and accurate way, and they should ensure the receiver of the data can interpret the report to fulfill their business need. They will also need to utilise the workflow and system to ensure prompt query resolution or legal execution for collection ensuring their personal PUPPS "to do list" is updated. Experience of Microsoft Excel to a proficient level would be desirable.

We are looking for someone to work within the guidelines of the Credit Policy to demonstrate customer focus. Additionally this includes being able to reduce the level of unresolved queries by responding to customers and Debt Collection Agencies in a prompt and decisive manner, and they should ensure the correct use of workflow system so that the debt process continues without dead ends.

The successful applicant will have experience of working to KPIs, including financial targets and targets related to the age of debts. If you have experience of working within a 'target driven' Commercial Credit Control Team, and can hit the ground running then this role may be for you.
