Field Service Engineer - South East London

£24,500 + overtime circa £32k

Hours: Monday- Thursday 8am- 5pm, Early finish Friday
Stand by rota 5pm – 10pm 1 in 3 weekends. Paid at £250 to be on stand by and time and a half if called out.

Duties:

  • To ensure highest customer satisfaction through maximum performance of machinery.
  • To install, service and maintain company products to the highest possible standards, at customer sites as instructed by Manager or Service Control.
  • Service and maintain company products at customer sites as instructed by Manager or Team Leader, to the satisfaction of the customer and within the agreed time schedules, using approved spare parts, manuals and instructions.      
  • Ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with the company ISO Procedures.
  • To maintain continuance with customers, service requirements and communications with Management.
  • Ensure smooth running of site, maintaining good conduct and discipline in the absence of the Team Leader or Manager.
  • To ensure performance is achieved to agreed customer SLA's.
  • Ensure regular (standard) performance data is collated weekly and forwarded to Manager.
  • Record parts usage correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels to meet PM and day to day running requirements.
  • Provide stock management information and set up effective controls and processes as necessary
  • Maintain courteous and helpful contact with the customer.
  • Maintain regular contact with Service Control to ensure optimum call response and generate high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Complete and submit all relevant documentation and reports as required by management or Service Control. These include time sheets, expenses and SRO's'
  • Maintain good communication with Sales staff, Administration staff and other Engineers.
  • Ensure all engineering and performance issues are escalated in a timely fashion and to the correct parties.

 Skills required:

  • Ability to perform electro/mechanical fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to repair/replace mechanical assemblies and electrical components.
  • Able to use Oscilloscope, hand tools and a multi meter.
  • Experience working on electro/mechanical machinery in a production environment is desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Effective time management of self.
  • Computer literate.
  • 4. Good record keeping,
  • HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering also desirable
