Our client is seeking to appoint an Engineer to take up an exciting role to maintain the organisation's growth strategy by developing new capabilities and providing engineering solutions in a diverse and fast moving business environment; requiring a strong Fluid Power bias and developed understanding of hydraulic components and systems, working across a Fluid Power and Machining & Plating Business Unit.

JOB PURPOSE:
* Develop new internal technical capability for the Fluid Power and Machine & Plating Business Units
* Evaluate new unit potential against technical capability
* Provide technical support to workshops

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Undertake technical evaluation of hydraulic, pneumatic & electro/mechanical aircraft components and associated systems to deliver engineering solutions.
* Design and build of test equipment within budget capable of meeting exacting standards.
* Produce design documentation, drawings and calculations.
* Offer technical backup, in the event of equipment breakdown and fault finding support to maintenance team.
* Leverage extensive knowledge to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
* Focus on continual development and implementation of lean management processes and operational excellence.
* Identify, negotiate and engage with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
* Plan and maintain projects in an efficient, cost effective manner, ensuring delivery to meet / exceed customer service expectations.
* Adhere to industry standard QA rules and regulations.

To be considered for this role you must hold an Engineering degree in any related discipline (Fluids, Fluid Power systems, Hydraulics preferred) and have at least three years', proven relevant experience working within a fluid power environment. You should also be able to demonstrate experience of building and designing test rigs, and ability to use 2D Cad packages.
