Job Position: Senior Application Engineer - Engines

Overview of the role:

To be the primary technical interface to company machine divisions. Ensuring that engines are correctly selected and installed in accordance with installation instructions and standards while ensuring the engine installation meets legal & environmental requirements.


Action Routine and complex Enquiries for Technical Information
Optimise specifications for customer engines ensuring appropriate engines and technology are selected
Engage in customers' NPI programs providing support and guidance to allow machine development teams to plan and undertake installation tests & validation activities in an effective and timely manner
Fully complete Installation Appraisal Reports with sign off responsibility to identify & solve customers' engine and installation issues
Interpret test results and draw conclusions from in order to implement permanent solutions
Fully represent customer in PS R&D internal FMEA and DVPSOR activities
Create and update Application documentation to support new engine types / models


Full understanding of the engine systems operation, integration and effects on machine performance
Ability to capture, collate, engine diagnostic data using specialist tools (VISU/ ATI etc) Interpret results and draw conclusions and implement permanent solutions
Ability to provide a consistently high level of support to customers
Effectively communicate via verbal and written communication at all levels sometimes in a confrontational environment

Basic Hours: 39 hours per week :
Monday - Thursday 08.00 - 17.00, finish at 13.00 on Fridays

Salary/Rate: £35,000-£50,000
