Working within the Financial Control team that is responsible for ensuring that appropriate control is exercised over all financial transactions across the Group in order to facilitate both timely and accurate Financial Reporting. This is an interim role to cover a Maternity leave for the Team Leader of the Reconciliation team.

The team are responsible for the reconciliation and control of a number of key control accounts offering a 35 hour week over flexible working pattern

The KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of this role include:
* Developing a comprehensive understanding of the team's processes and procedures including, key risks, manual/automated controls and development areas and for ensuring that key controls are in place to minimise risk and attempted fraud, safeguard business assets and the integrity of reporting.

* Ensuring tailored training and development plans are in place for each team member.
* Ensuring the team are working to effective KPI's to drive team's performance
* Ensure all issues/concerns are proactively escalated where necessary.
* Continuous development of efficiencies within processes and procedures to meet the needs of the business.
* Ensure all information and documentation is prepared and processed in accordance with specific policies and procedures, to required deadlines.
* Manage all aspects of team resource in line with company policies (recruitment, training, monitoring, appraisals, setting targets etc.)
* Be involved in and at times deliver ad hoc analysis and projects as required.

The client are preferably seeking someone studying for a Finance qualification, and who can demonstrate some good relevant experience in a finance or accounting environment and a full working knowledge of double entry accounting.

You will demonstrate the following competencies:
* Professional, self -starter
* Man management experience including, PDP's, appraisals, and performance management.
* Effective delegation skills.
* Detailed understanding of standard criteria for production of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ability to work positively with all team members and adapt style to suit individual needs.
* Ability to initiate and drive change.
* Ability to work to deadlines and be flexible to deal with changing business demands.

Systems experience:
oExcel to a high standard - pivot tables, vlook up, sum if statements
oForeign pack reporting
oJDE purchase order function
* Accounting & reporting in foreign currencies would be advantageous
* Good written and oral communication skills and ability to present financial information at a senior level.
