Application Engineer

Our client is based in Bristol and has been providing convenient and cost effective solutions for their industry for well over 20 years. The customer base is not only in the UK but also worldwide; due to company expansion they are looking for an Application Engineer to join their team based in Bristol.

Job Description: Application Engineer
Be the technical link between internal and external customer with in in-depth product knowledge on allocated products.
To comprehend and utilize product features benefits and applications to support sales team in achieve or exceed sales goals.
To conceive new product ideas & identify new application of existing products. Keep abreast of general market development and standards requirements.
Identify new opportunities for product development and enhancement to existing products by interacting with sales teams and customers.
Working closely with sales & marketing team to demonstrate product or system functionality to potential customers.
Keep abreast of new technology which in turn could be implemented in future product variants to ensure we maintain a market advantage
Support and provide input for the product roadmap
Strategic liaison between the sales, NPD for sharing competitive information, market information and the needs/requirements of customers as input for various product enhancement/improvement/development
Provide customer support for integration of our products in to 3rd party systems
Support trade shows, educational events or professional conferences when requested
Respond to customer requests, internal sales requests and fill knowledge gaps through training courses
Evaluate products / solutions, create and maintain product catalogs and support the sales targets
Provide technical support in tendering/bid preparation
Identify new applications of existing products for providing innovative solution to an existing problem or application need in order to maximize value of the portfolio
To sell value and advantages of product offerings to customers and sales teams

Experience / Skills / Qualifications:
*Strong technical and analytical skills either from a hardware or software back ground
*Commercial awareness is beneficial but not essential
* Bsc in Electronics or Software
* 5-10 years experience

Other Benefits:
Monday - Thursday 8-4 Friday 8-3:30 however the company do offer Flexible working.
