Senior Support Worker
Senior Support Worker (Ref: SSW-0517)
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their career; particularly for enhancing skills around management and supervision.
Centre 404 is a friendly, local and thriving charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in North London.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fulfill a role forming part of the management team of 3 small supported living projects for 4 adults with a range of learning disabilities including moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical health needs.
Working alongside the Project Manager and a team of Support Workers, you will provide excellent person centred care to ensure the tenants’ wellbeing, enabling independent and fulfilled living. This will involve supporting service users to take part in a range of meaningful and fun group activities, develop friendships and access services, as well as support with all aspects of day-to-day living. This will include working in partnership with family and advocates, where possible and appropriate.
With the support of the project manager, you will contribute to the development of the team, with the responsibility for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision to support workers. You will also support the team with the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and support to tenants.
The ideal candidate will be organised and have good attention to detail. You will have a strong understanding of what makes a quality service for adults with a learning disability and a friendly and confident approach to working with vulnerable people.
We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering excellent quality and managing a varied workload, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills, along with the ability to work well as part of a team.
Centre 404 is committed to staff development and supervision and we will provide a detailed induction and on-going training and support to enable the successful candidate to grow within this role. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk and we are looking to recruit people who share these values. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.
