Working within a multi-disciplinary client service cluster, the PR & Content Manager will support a clearly defined portfolio of accounts, with particular responsibility for creating compelling written content and delivering effective strategies which achieve business and financial objectives. The post-holder will help build the agency's reputation for client and sector understanding as well as the creativity, quality and responsiveness of its service.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of PR and content strategies, tactics and campaigns for a variety of retained clients and projects
  • Undertake account handling responsibility on defined accounts, including project management and client liaison
  • Research, plan and create a detailed schedule of activity for each campaign (including PR/content/social media plans), ensuring that all work is completed within budget and invoiced correctly and in a timely manner
  • Precise interaction with Synergist on job raising, quoting, time implementation and weekly monitoring of job profitability
  • Monitor campaign performance against KPIs and objectives, gathering metrics - including EAV and social media effectiveness
  • Attend client meetings as required, either alone or with other members of the PR team, to discuss work in progress, take briefs and present research or creative work
  • Help collate data and write accurate reports
  • Research clients' business activity to maintain an in-depth understanding of events and trends in their industries and use this knowledge on a rolling basis to offer consultancy
  • Research and write a range of material, including (but not limited to) press releases, features, thought leadership articles, white papers, newsletters and online content
  • Help the agency achieve new business targets by providing support on presentations and pitches as required
  • Champion integrated thinking within your client service cluster by promoting and integrating PR initiatives into strategies and campaigns wherever appropriate
  • Develop PR & content to promote the agency's work and brand promotion
  • Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of (and effective partnership with) the media through regular liaison and pro-active relationship building
  • Line manage PR and content executive (where applicable)
  • To travel for the company both nationally and internationally as required

Technical knowledge, professional qualifications and experience:

  • PR experience, gained in a similar client facing role, ideally within a B2B agency, and preferably supported with a degree or professional qualification
  • Account handling capability - either proven or potential - together with strong organisational and project management skills
  • The ability to remain focused on customers and quality, even when working under high pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Broad understanding of social media platforms, channels and content opportunities
  • Excellent and versatile writing skills
  • A quick learner with strong team-working skills
  • Demonstrable commitment to client service excellence
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads in a fast-moving, deadline driven and pressurised environment and with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with MS Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • The ability to quickly assimilate and interpret data and information and draw relevant conclusions
