Product Manager / Business Manager

The successful candidate would report to the Group Manager.

The role of is as follows:

Working with Group Manager implementing set objectives

The role is predominately office based, however at key times of the year you would be expected to present the new products and initiatives offered by our client.

Overseas travel is also part of this role with annual visits to China in October and occasional business trips into Europe.

Working with current suppliers, enhancing the range of branded products & features and benefits. Negotiate prices and strategies with new and current suppliers.

Sourcing new products from China ( 1 overseas trip each year October)

Within the role

Position our brand within the market offering a lower cost option to the brand leaders but with extra or perceived features and benefits that our sales team can then present to customers.

  • From samples ordered, the Product / Business Manager will be responsible for the organising of product testing and evaluation.

  • Re-branding ofproducts

This would include creating product differentiation, colour changes, artwork of both product and packaging. Features and benefits listed (marketing team would also be involved at some stage) differentiating our product from the original manufactures.

Working with Marketing, updating Web site, create annual Catalogues and ongoing promotions both sell in and out .

Oversee marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistency with product line strategy. Work and supporting National Sales Manager and Operations Manager.

Support on a daily basis technical questions relating to the products supplied from the business both to the distributor their customers and sales team.

Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management

Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues.

Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets Excellent command of the English language

Technical training on the products will be given and the successful candidate will also be able to take relevant training qualifications connected to the industry - (expense covered by the company)

After an agreed period within the position and the successful completion of the tasks set within the role the position would then be extended to Divisional Manager.
