Adecco are proud to be working with one of the country's largest manufacturers of timber buildings who are currently looking for a permanent full time Workshop Manager in Ashford.

The ideal candidate will have timber experience, be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the workshop, answerable to the Managing Director.

You will be responsible for the below;
*Staff Management
In conjunction with the Workshop Foreman to be responsible for all aspects of staff management within the workshop including staffing levels overall, general discipline, adherence to all health and Safety requirements, timekeeping and staff training.
*Workshop Management
Responsible for the cleanliness of the workshop, all goods inward into workshop store, stock taking, and stock levels of workshop stores, general maintenance of all workshop tools, plant and equipment.
*Yard Management
To be responsible for general management of the yard t include stock management, levels and rotation, cleanliness and Heath and Safety issues. Managing all deliveries; loading/unloading and booking in all delivery lorries.
*First Aid/Fire
To assume the role of company Fire Officer and to be one of the companies trained first aid staff. To be responsible for all first aid equipment, including stock levels, for the Ashford site and the erectors lorries.
*Workshop Production Quality
In conjunction with the workshop foreman ensure that each day all buildings due for delivery have been thoroughly checked over, deemed to be correct and sign accordingly. That all building components are correctly positioned for loading both inside workshop and outside the loading bays.
That daily erecting boxes are complete and checked.
To maintain a close and harmonious working relationship with erectors. To liaise with and respond to them on matters relating to the designs of our buildings or changes and improvements that may be required to the construction methods.
*Vehicle Maintenance/Inspections/Tachographs
To liaise with our local dealer regarding the schedule of inspections for all delivery vehicles. Carry out checks on erectors tachographs, ensuring adherence to all legal requirements.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes;
The ideal candidate will have sound leadership skills and will be a good communicator with all functions within the company.The individual must set standards on the management of staff and production quality.

In return you will be paid a salary of £30,000-£35,000 dependant on experience.
The standard hours are Monday to Friday 6.30am-4.30pm with the occasional weekend. Please be aware in busy periods you will be expected to work overtime.
