BMR Solutions is currently looking to recruit for a Commissioning Engineer to work for our client who is manufacturer of high security equipment.

Job Title: Commissioning Engineer
Location: UK and International (Bristol base)
Contract: Permanent
Rate/Salary: DOE

Key Skills & Experience:

·Demonstrable knowledge and experience (minimum of 5 years) of working in allied situations
·Previous experience of working independently overseas
·Holder of a current CSCS qualification (or equivalent)
·Must be commercially astute and be able to deliver results within agreed budgets
·Good understanding of mechanical engineering principals
·Experience of controls & instrumentation (including hydraulics
·Experience of PLC hardware and software integration (including Mitsubishi and Schneider)
·Good general IT and report writing skills
·A flexible approach to working hours
·The ability to work in an organised manner with minimal supervision and to deliver the desired results within challenging deadlines
·A disciplined approach to following and enforcing all departmental procedures
·Competent at following electrical and mechanical drawings
·Excellent fault finding skills
·Well versed in relevant H&S practices


·To assume responsibility for of assigned work and to orchestrate & deliver all expectations within budget and in a timely manager
·To professionally report work progress and current status to internal and external stakeholders
·To undertake Site Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance, Training, Handover and Start-up activities
·To undertake problem solving and troubleshooting as part of normal commissioning duties
·To maintain (and action) agreed site ‘punch lists’ to satisfy project requirements
·Complete a Commissioning / Handover Reports upon project completion
·Identifying and orchestrating variation orders and other post-sale opportunities
·Maintain a site diary detailing activities and key events during the course of the project
·To feed relevant learnings back into the system, consistent with a process of continuous improvement
·To suitably Risk Assess new and existing systems both in-house and on site
·To offer first-line technical support where appropriate
·To undertake in-house Factory Acceptance Testing
·To assist with in-house training (product and process) for other ABC engineers as required
·To assist with the compilation of Technical Files and supporting documentation
·To accurately maintain supplies of appropriate van-held spares and associated materials
·Ensure weekly time sheets, expenses and other administrative demands of the position are submitted in a timely manner
·Attend site in a professional manner at all times
