One of the worlds largest insurance companies has a 6 month contract requirement for a qualified Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team which is responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting, financial accounting and financial board reporting.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of timetables and KPIs related to Solvency II financial reporting, ensuring that there is enough time for a proper management review and understanding of the figures
Prepare and deliver all operational aspects of the production of documents, in order to
ensure the timely and accurate production of Solvency II financial information
Liaise with PwC on Solvency II issues and audits
Prepare or provide support in respect of any other regulatory and statutory filings
Understand the differences between UK GAAP, US GAAP and local GAAP and incorporate into the local accounts, as appropriate
Work closely with the Tax team, understand their information needs and agree reporting requirements, format and timetable - taking responsibility for deliverables accordingly
Assist in developing good working relationship with PwC in London and the Region and address PwC (or other service providers) queries (as applicable).
Work closely with the senior financial accountant to assist/develop reporting knowledge on a quarterly and annual basis and apply this to the role.
Deliver assistance on major projects within the team eg Solvency II and new UK GAAP.
Support the production of financial reports to the board on a quarterly basis. This involves the maintenance of a clear, concise and accurate analysis of the various bases of reporting used by the company - management information, US GAAP, statutory and regulatory
Experience of the general insurance industry
Strong Excel skills required with analytical skills for financial reporting and analysis
Strong organisation and communication skills
