Our client is a young dynamic leading retailer based in central London that is looking to recruit a new Accounts Assistant to help support the finance team in the business. Since the business was created it has gone through exceptional year on year growth that has been highlighted by its cult success globally.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with excellent excel skills and a keen interest in the retail industry. Working closely with the Finance Manager and company directors, this varied role will see the successful candidate assist with month end close, produce the monthly management reporting pack and analyse and manipulate large volumes of data to present and publish them to internal and external stakeholders. The role will include assisting the Finance manager with ad hoc duties. The successful candidate will have previous retail finance experience, looking to join a fast growing independent retailer as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
Ledger management
Code and post invoices
Verify, code and post staff expenses.
Verify, code and post credit card expenses
Co-ordinate authorisation of invoices.
Reconcile supplier statements
Accounts Payable/ Banking
Set-up and process supplier payment run
Process staff expenses payment run
Post payment run entries
Reconcile bank accounts
Reconcile petty cash
Assisting Financial Manager with Monthly accounts
Preparing VAT returns
Preparing Accounts to Trial balance
Processing Accruals and prepayments
Processing journals
Involved in the ongoing development and preparation of monthly management reporting pack for the business and implementing monthly & quarterly performance measures.
Administrative support for finance team
Collating, manipulating and publishing large volumes of data within excel.

Graduate calibre
Previous experience working in a finance team preferably in retail.
Possess strong analytical and reporting skills.
Advanced excel and previous experience of working with large data sets and presenting them.
Proactive and adaptable, able to develop with the company as developments move into operational phase.
Strong communication skills across all levels.
High attention to detail.
