SCHOOL: Mixed Comprehensive - 11 - 16 years 61% 5 A*-C grades for GCSE’s in 2016
LOCATION: Inner London Borough
TRANSPORT: 10 minutes from a District Line tube station
PERSON: Experienced Geography Teacher or current Head of Geography
START DATE: September
SALARY: MPS/ UPS plus TLR 1 B (dependent on experience)
HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Head Teacher of this well-known secondary school in East London is keen to appoint a Head of Geography from September. She has asked for my help to recruit a Head of Geography on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will either be an experienced Head of Geography or an experienced Geography Teacher that is ready for middle management. You must have a proven track record of delivering 'good’ or 'outstanding’ lessons across Key Stage 3 & 4. Your passion for teaching Geography is a must, as well as having the ability to motivate and enthuse pupils in your care.
HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY JOB SPECIFICATION:
As Head of Geography at this school, you will be managing a team of 3 Geography Teachers as well as a graduate teaching assistant that specialises in Geography. The department has had its ups and downs, but recently they have produced some excellent results. August 2016 saw the department achieve their highest grades for GCSE’s ever. The Head Teacher and her Senior Leadership Team have high expectations of all staff. You will be given support if/ when needed but ultimately, this would be your chance shine.
