A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to run a private members club with exclusive letting accommodation set in one of the Lake District's most desirable locations under a Franchisee General Manager agreement.

We are looking for a strong Steward/Management Couple with one having strong culinary skills and the ability to manage the club and its members and events, providing catering for regular dinners and functions as well as providing full catering and management services required to run the prescribed and agreed external non-member events such as weddings as a per the Franchisee agreement.

The club is very socially biased and is very busy at the weekends with member's events and has developed a good week day B&B business The Club has a regular social programme that is in place every year so most dates and functions are guaranteed a full year in advance. The operation is set in a listed building in a superb location and is an amazing opportunity for someone looking for a fantastic lifestyle in an amazing location. Reporting to and participating in a Management Board the suitable Franchisee General Management Couple will be paid a base fee of £25,000 plus commission on all catering as well as enjoying a very comfortable expensed 2 bedroom ,bathroom en suite shower room lounge living accommodation located in the Club Premises.

Responsibilities include the following:

* The ability to provide an impeccable front of house service to both members and general public at all times and to ensure that your team do the same

*The ability to ensure all areas of the club house are always available to members and guests and are tidy & clean

*Ensure through the management of the Garden contractor at the Club that all grounds are kept to the high standards set out by the club and that any required work is carried out accordingly.

* Manage all internal & external property maintenance within the budget provided by the Club, using external tradespeople where necessary.

* Take responsibility of necessary club administration and finances, checking of all post & emails, liaising with the book keeper with regards to club billing and account management and answering telephone calls in a timely manner.
Computer literate and experienced in modern EPOS customer billing systems

Required experience:

* Previous, recent experience of running a similar operation as well as some letting bedroom experience.

* Experience of running an operation that has a private members club would be advantageous

* Ideally a General Management Couple or Stewards who have worked through a career in hotel management or within a similar private member, quality leisure/sporting club or golf club operation

*Previous experience of running an operation under a Franchise agreement is an advantage

* We are looking for a Management Couple with some good culinary skills and experience to take charge of breakfasts and bar lunches as well as having the ability to produce good and varied ALC meals for up to 30 persons as this is an essential part the role albeit that there would be no problem in contacting out special serviced e.g. chef s at the Franchisees expense

* The Club hosts regular dinners for between 12 -30 and dinner dances for up to 80 as well as a small number of weddings and external events for up to a max of 200 people plus small board meetings and product launches - we are looking for a General Manager who can provide catering for these types of functions - contracting out to outside caterers for major events if necessary. There is a real opportunity to develop week day weddings and corporate functions.

Franchisee Details

*The fixed commission for this role is £25,000 with free accommodation plus a percentage commission on all catering which historically has run at a minimum of £85k pa up to £115kpa.

*Franchisee will be solely franchised to the Club unless specifically agreed by the Club in such cases as potential external events.

*Company must be VAT registered

*Must have own professional accountant & keep up to date accounts and pay suppliers on terms agreed

*Comply with all H & S and legal clauses already included in the contract
