Badenoch & Clark are currently working alongside an exciting and progressive company based in Southampton towards the appointment of a Financial Accountant. As Financial Accountant you will be primarily responsible for the production of accurate and timely data for inclusion in the month-end close processes. The role suits a ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified accountant or candidates at the final stages of their qualifications.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be working closely with the FP&A Analysts Unit to drive control accuracy and crucial insight to the reported company numbers. As such, you must be simultaneously innovative and ambitious in order to guarantee the integrity of your reporting as well as strive to improve processes throughout the company.
Key Accountabilities:

*Preparation of information for inclusion in management accounts for the company and its entities
*Manage Fixed Assets and Capital Expenditure Request control
*Manage overheads and serve central functions in respect of financial support
*Oversee VAT returns
*Oversee Payroll and relevant returns associated
*Sage 200 system administration
*Own balance sheet reconciliation process including own reconciliations
*Complete Tax information packs to enable corporation tax calculations
*Sarbanes Oxley development and compliance
*Responsible for the monthly returns
*Establish and maintain strong relationships across Finance - particularly with FP&A team and finance business
*Manage operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
*Ensure information systems are operated to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records.

Due to the nature of the role you will ideally match the following
*Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
*Previous VAT exposure
*Demonstrable experience within a similar Financial Accountant function
