Sales Ledger Clerk

Duration: Permanent

Location: North Birmingham

Salary: £17,000 - £21,000 pa

greenwellgleeson is exclusively recruiting for an Sales Ledger Clerk for a permanent position at a successful manufacturing business in North Birmingham.

You will be working within a newly formed shared service centre, this is a very exiting time to join the business. Respnsibilities inc:-

  • Raise sales invoices on a daily basis in accordance to the company policies.

  • Assume responsibility for the collection control and administration of monies due from specified customers.

  • In accordance with agreed credit terms and conditions, monitor and identify on a weekly basis those customers that have outstanding debt.

  • Accurately record transactions on a daily basis to enable efficient follow up of any accounts and diarise all communications with customers.

  • Liaise with customers regarding any disputed invoices. Ensure Commercial/operations are aware of any queries and assist where possible in seeking relevant information in order that the query may be promptly solved and payment received.

  • For those specified customers, enter all payments received onto the Unity sales ledger system then allocate these payments to the relevant invoices/credits. Ensure the correct reconciliation of all amounts and entries

  • Identify high risk debt where possible on an on-going basis and escalate collection procedures to minimise the likelihood of bad debt.

  • Prepare reports on debt management and credit control as required and prioritise and manage workload to meet key performance indicators.

  • To run month end and year end close and prepare monthly reports as per the finance timetable

  • Support the finance team and provide cover where required
