Job Title: Registered General Nurse
Location: South Yorkshire, Sheffield
Salary: £29,530 to £32,352
Job role: Full time, Permanent

We are an 82-bed home for those requiring care for physical disabilities, Huntington's disease and neurological conditions and also offers tracheostomy care. As one of the core members of our care/nursing team you will have a huge impact on the quality of life for all our Service Users. You will be placed onto one of 4 active units, supporting upto 20 service users on the unit.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be part of a team that is passionate about delivering quality care to those in our care, ensuring that our service users have the ability to make their own choices and assisting them in living as independently as possible.

About the job

So, as a nurse within our home, what will your role be? It will be varied but the main focus will be on delivering hands-on person centred care to our service users and will include:

Duties include

1) Acting as a named nurse.
2) Administering, reviewing and monitoring medications.
3) Assessing, planning and implementing support plans to meet the individual needs
4) Supervising the care team to ensure that the shift runs smoothly and efficiently, through positive role modeling and leadership.
5) Promoting choice, independence, dignity and respect.

About you

We expect that you will be a first level nurse with a current PIN.

More importantly though, you'll need to be passionate about what you do, and that means leading by example. You'll need to be well organised, be able work on your own initiative and make decisions, whilst working collaboratively as part of a small, multi-disciplinary team.

You should be up to date with current evidence based practice and have a working knowledge of CQC Standards and Regulations.

Your first seven days will be spent in a classroom environment, where you'll complete a comprehensive induction and training programme, designed to give you all the information that you'll need before you start working in the home. We then continue your training once in post, so can give you the specific training on skills such tracheostomy care, etc.
