Health & Safety Coordinator

Location: Leicester
Salary: £25K - £30K
Role Type: full time, permanent

Role & Responsibilities:

*You will be responsible for establishing, managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all health & safety responsibilities are followed.
*Ensuring that employers and workers comply with safety legislation.
*Carry out risk assessments and look at ways to reduce risks.
*Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly followed.
*Develop in-house training with employees about health & safety issues and risks.
*Keep records of all incidents and accidents and produce statistic reports.
*Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all health and safety legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry.
*Ensure the safe installation of equipment.
*Manage the safe disposal of hazard substances.

What we are looking for?

*Extensive knowledge of health & safety practice.
*Extensive knowledge of health & safety legislation and codes of practice.
*Minimum of 3 years working in a health & safety officer position.
*Knowledge of fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise & safeguarding machinery.
*Experience of investigating accidents.
*Experience of managing risk assessments and conducting audits.
*Friendly and up-beat attitude!
