The business is an independent company which provides legal assistance, advice and support to a wide client base. The team is made up of experienced members each with significant knowledge within their specialist area.
The purpose of the Legal Cashier is to support the accounts department in the provision of financial services to the practice by providing competent and efficient assistance in cashier / bookkeeping duties.
You will support the operation of the firms accounting system and PAYE scheme, ensure that all banking is done daily as directed, enter postings to the accounts system on a daily basis, ensure that new matters are recorded correctly, assist in the entering of bills, ensure that all authorised invoices are dealt with in a timely manner, deal directly with clients when receiving payment and support the operation of the credit control system whilst ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules at all times.
We are looking for a professional and organised individual with at least 2 years experience working in a legal accounts role within a law firm. You will be able to prioritise your workload, have excellent written and oral communication skills plus be computer proficient with Microsoft Office programs. You will also be highly numerate and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules. Any formal legal accounting or bookkeeping qualifications is advantageous.
The Legal Cashier job is based in Heathfield and is paying up to £25,000 pro rata according to individual skills and previous experience. This is a part time role working 2-3 days per week.
