Senior Procurement Commodity Manager, Directs

Your new role

To lead the Commodity procurement team and activities for projects and operations in the Site, from the bid phase until the end of the warranty period. To establish purchase contracts with the best terms and conditions for the purchase of quality materials to meet BT and customer requirements, reduce the total cost of ownership and ensure timely delivery and support Operation levels to optimize inventories. Drive continuous material cost reduction programs.

Key responsibilities and challenges

Develop the competencies and performance of the commodity procurement team

  • Recruit best in class procurement personnel
  • Develop competence of buyers & material bid analysts
  • Develop material cost reduction skills
  • Stimulate cross-functional interaction
  • Develop total cost of ownership approach
  • Develop management skills of procurement managers & future leaders
  • Manage performance, provide feedback and support team members

Winning material bids

  • Maximize the integration of standardised supplier solutions
  • Increase the Low Cost Country Sourcing (LCCS) spend in the material bids
  • Apply company wide category sourcing strategies into the material bid
  • Integrate lessons learnt existing projects (supplier & cost performance)

Manage purchase contracts for the projects & operations in the site.

  • Ensure cross-functional total cost of ownership supplier offer selectionManage compliance with company wide sourcing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and technical requirements
  • Establish purchase contracts timely securing quality and timely deliveries
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration during design and validation process
  • Ensure supplier quality performance during manufacturing & warranty period



Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

  • University degree or equivalent through experience, management experience, complemented by a demonstrated track record of success
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply
  • Experience in Procurement & Project Management
  • Technical background skills
  • Mastery of IT tools and data bases
  • Knowledge in various MRP systems, esp. SAP R3
  • Six Sigma
  • Highly developed negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of procurement tools and processes
  • Knowledge in international contract law
