Business Development Executive - Export

Circa £20,000 plus excellent benefits including pension, free onsite gym, free onsite parking and depot shopping membership card.

We now have an exciting opportunity within our Central Export department for a motivated and driven Business Development Executive to support in the growth of our export department and sales.

Export is a rapidly growing area of our business and there are clear opportunities of progression for people with passion and ambition.

This is an excellent and rare opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career with a company that is willing to provide development working alongside some of the most experienced sales professionals within the industry.

Key responsibilities of this role will, amongst others, be to:

  • To develop an understanding of the day to day export operations at the designated depot with supervision of senior team members
  • Share responsibility for all required duties with management team to perform as per company requirements
  • Successfully manage and service current customers while developing new trade

(Year one target is for £1m of new business while inheriting old customers as additional business – Total under management min £2m)

  • To ensure planned department marketing is effective and to improve and develop new business opportunities. Investigate low and nil spends customers and addresses the relevant action necessary
  • To carry out other duties as directed by the needs of the business
  • Build sales from managing existing customers and development of sales from new customers

To take on this exciting opportunity you’ll be somebody who can work well under pressure, have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, combined with good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages; especially Excel and Word and be willing to learn new skills with a passion for self-development.

You’ll be a confident individual who can build successful relationships and you’ll ideally have experience gained within a retailor wholesale/FMCG background in either an office or sales related position. 

An understanding of creating budgets would be beneficial as well as good English and the ability to speak any additional languages would be a distinct advantage in this role.
