Due to retirement, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the electrical design team of our client, a manufacturer of electrical power equipment primarily to heavy industries such as MOD, Power Generation, Nuclear, Oil & Gas and pharmaceuticals.

As an electrical design engineer specialising in motors and generators, you will take full responsibility for all tasks related to electrical design engineering such as thermal calculations, finite element analysis (FEA / FEM / FEMM), as well as continually improving the internal analysis software.

You will use your technical expertise to offer support both to clients, and internal departments such as sales. As such there will be occasional travel in this role visiting the installed product base, as well as working as the technical expert alongside the sales team on presentations and proposals

The successful candidate will have experience in detailed design of electrical equipment, preferably rotating, but applications from engineers with experience of similar equipment such as transformers are welcomed.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an engineering team who are operating at the absolute highest level of skill within their sector.

Requirements for application:

  • Experience designing generators / motors / transformers or similar equipment
  • Higher education level qualified electrical engineer
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA / FEM / FEMM)
  • Calculations (Thermal / Electrical etc)
  • Happy with occasional travel
